ALL ABOUT LATINAFEST

ALL ABOUT LATINAFEST

Did you know Latinas are the driving force changing the face of entrepreneurship in the United States? There are an estimated 4.7 million Latino-owned companies in the U.S., 46 percent are Latina-owned, the SBA reports.

Because of the support of reinas como tu, Latina-owned companies, such as NYTAQ, can continue to thrive, employ within our community and ensure the economic growth of the country.

If you’re looking to support Latina + women-owned small businesses and you happen to be in LA on Sunday, March 19th, then you MUST experience LATINAFest, bringing you into a world of community, love and cultura.

Whether you’ve ever heard of it or not, it should be on every Latina’s To-Do list. Why? Because this event was made exclusivamente para ti.

WHAT IS LATINAfest?

LATINAfest is a community-based organization whose mission is to celebrate and promote unity, diversity, and economic inclusion and to amplify the Latina voice while championing Latina entrepreneurs, activists, and artists who are committed to uplifting and empowering the Latina community.

It’s an outdoor festival at La Plaza de Cultura Y Artes in Los Angeles, CA. that brings women of all ages and walks of life together to enjoy culture, embrace heritage and support Latina-owned small businesses.

Coming up on its 5th anniversary, LATINAfest has helped businesses grow by giving us the opportunity to showcase our products, talent and meet new people.

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF LATINAfest?

The creators of LATINAfest, Naibe Reynoso and Bel Hernandez originally wanted to reach a core audience for theTRENDtalk, a show that both creators used to host. In doing so, they realized that there was a whole community of women often taking care of others before themselves just wanting to come together to celebrate entrepreneurship and individual efforts to inspire generations to come.

And they built just that: a space where Latinas can feel supported and seen while building our own empires. Women supporting women in ways that only we Latinas can understand. Did you know that almost 1 out of 10 women in the entire country is a Latina? This is the only festival in Los Angeles that celebrates us throughout the year and especially during Women’s History Month.

NYTAQ AND LATINAfest

We built our brand Con Ovarios. y con amor and we’re so grateful to the community of women we’ve met at LATINAfest. From the mujeres who supported our booth by purchasing NYTAQ gear, to the ones who tagged us in their social media as an up and coming Latina brand, to the Latina business owners who regardless of the nature of their business, brought us along with them and made the entrepreneurship ride smoother.

There is a special place for LATINAfest in the history of NYTAQ. Our founder and CEO Fernanda Kelly shares why: “To have been the MC of the very first LATINAfest is an honor I will always treasure in my heart. Not only because I have seen the undeniable effort and inspirational growth in Naibe and Bel as creators of LATINAfest, but also, it’s the first public event NYTAQ was ever part of as a brand.”

WHAT YOU’LL FIND AT LATINAfest

The most important gain from LATINAfest is inclusion. All generations will get to see that Latinas are represented on a national level and that matters for anyone who is thinking about starting their own business, is working hard to make their business be seen or just wants to see more feel supported and loved by a wonderful group of women.

IT’S TIME TO SUPPORT LATINA OWNED BUSINESSES NATIONWIDE

According to the Mckinsey Report: Latina founders run nearly 2 million businesses across the country, but receive less than 2% of venture capital funds. Yet, they are the fastest growing cohort of entrepreneurs.

Here at NYTAQ, we know the importance of our heritage. We built our brand Con Ovarios. y con amor and we’re so proud of our community and the women championing behind every sale, every business goal met and every single sacrifice made. By supporting small brands, you lift creators up and make it possible for more events like LATINAfest to pop up in a city near you.
